I'm Claire, I love taking photos of people, whatever they're up to. I'm also a sound engineer (if you drop by www.offsetaudio.com you'll see the other thing i love doing), a costume designer and sometimes I just make things!
i take photos : people & performers.
i'm not sure if i'm a camera geek who loves theatre....
....or a theatre geek who loves photos....
....but it seems to work, and it's the thing that makes me happy.
please check out the links up the top to see what i'm up to when people let me point a camera at them.

I carry a camera constantly - whether it be the canon, a tiny fuji or my trusty iphone5 - and I take a LOT of photos, I thought they deserved a home also.

With this new website I have decided to muddle things up a bit, so in the personal projects menu there will be all the things that don't fit elsewhere.

Sometimes I feel a little distracted from my photos and I wanted to reconnect with them.
A lot of the time it's just 5d mk2 and a 50mm f1.4 and that's that.

I love my super-techie dslr but sometimes I like to play with one of my old cameras, mainly my 120 film Lubitel box camera. It's a "hit it and hope" type camera, but the colours are wonderful and the feeling is beautiful - a little more scratchy and a lot more analogue. It's always worth a go if you've got a bit of spare time to wait for the processing - these things aren't instant.

I like to shoot outdoors, playing with found light, but I also adore small, dark gigs and band photography. I'm a total theatre geek and adore working with performers, leaping off walls and creating portraits with personality and colour.

I'll make an image out of anything, everything can be beautiful if you look at it a little differently.

I like doctor who (specifically numbers 5 & 10), musical theatre, converse trainers (or scruffs that look like converse trainers), old-school rock'n'roll, songwriters with guitars, skinny jeans, the south bank on a saturday, the city when it's empty on a sunday, brutalist architecture, the national portrait gallery, symmetry, reflections and colour (lots & lots of colour).
